Our Story

SVEA was founded by Alfred and Maddy, husband and wife who met at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Alfred grew up in Sweden, and the two started baking traditional Swedish buns together at home. After years of refining their cardamom buns, cinnamon buns, and seasonal favorites, they eventually brought them to a farmers market, where SVEA began to take shape.

We care a lot about how things taste, what goes into them, and what we are putting in front of you. We choose ingredients carefully, spend time getting recipes just right, and build our menu so that each product can shine on its own while also pairing beautifully with others.

That idea of enjoying good things together is deeply rooted in Scandinavian culture. Fika is the Swedish tradition of slowing down to enjoy something good to eat and drink with someone else. It is a little pause in the day to sit down, share something delicious, catch up, and enjoy each other’s company.

We love the flavors behind what we serve, and we love talking about them. Cardamom, elderflower, lingonberry, and other ingredients may be familiar or completely new.
